Saratoga Springs - In Our Travels...to be cont'd

A ride along the Hudson River on Metro North is a
lovely way to get to Saratoga Springs.

Yes, they allow well behaved dogs!
(this is not Stella or her cup of tea - she hated the clanking noises, we drove)

we visited the beautiful

Seven Sisters Bed & Breakfast

as well as the lovely Saratoga Sleigh -

I took the liberty

of posing on their porches

but,

since neither allows dogs...

we highly recommend

the incredible and amazing

Union Gables Inn.
($25 pet fee)

The historic Furness House

was built in 1901

at 55 Union Avenue by R. Newton Brezee.

It's a beautiful example of the Queen Anne style of architecture.

Racing season hadn't started yet...

but we visited the race course anyway.
Lots of great smells there.

I kept hearing "see! biscuit! " so many times I thought for sure I was going to get one!

Instead all I got was this lousy job,

posing by this statue of a huge, fake horse.

I loved our visit
to Saratoga Springs!

Happy Birthday, Uncle Rog!

Not too far off the topic of "Old Dogs"...

Wishing a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Roger,

Stella & Sasha's human uncle
(and Mom's human brother - yes, that's a shot at you Uncle Al !)
who must be
centuries old by now in dog years!

Lady

Lady

is a

two year old

purebred

German Shepherd.

She is,

by no means,

an old dog.

Still, she has a lot in common with Stella.

She's very timid because she was harassed by another dog early on.

Like Stella,

she likes to watch TV...

(especially Lady And The Tramp)

and spends a considerable amount of time

at the computer.

Like Stella

she's thankful her humans have a great sense of humor.

I'm sure they would both agree
...

life is good!

Le Sacre du Printemps

I am an inventor of music.

My music is best understood
by children and animals.

To listen is an effort, and just to hear has no merit.

A bird hears also.

I haven't understood a bar of music in my life...

but I have felt it.

people are taught to have too much respect for music...

they should be taught

to love it instead.

What force is more potent than love?

We enjoyed the winter. We welcome the spring.

Beautiful Bruno

I am Bruno.

It is mountainous where I lived, with perfect weather, not too hot but not cold either.

When I was three Kiara became part of my family...

we had a litter of 12 puppies together.

I know they still think of me often

My family planted a Ceiba tree on the spot where they buried me.

Awed by the tremendous heights they can reach, Mayans believed that the souls of the dead climb into heaven through the branches of the mythical ceiba tree.

We celebrate Bruno's 8 short but wonderful years of life.
