Lady

Lady

is a

two year old

purebred

German Shepherd.

She is,

by no means,

an old dog.

Still, she has a lot in common with Stella.

She's very timid because she was harassed by another dog early on.

Like Stella,

she likes to watch TV...

(especially Lady And The Tramp)

and spends a considerable amount of time

at the computer.

Like Stella

she's thankful her humans have a great sense of humor.

I'm sure they would both agree
...

life is good!

Le Sacre du Printemps

I am an inventor of music.

My music is best understood
by children and animals.

To listen is an effort, and just to hear has no merit.

A bird hears also.

I haven't understood a bar of music in my life...

but I have felt it.

people are taught to have too much respect for music...

they should be taught

to love it instead.

What force is more potent than love?

We enjoyed the winter. We welcome the spring.

Beautiful Bruno

I am Bruno.

It is mountainous where I lived, with perfect weather, not too hot but not cold either.

When I was three Kiara became part of my family...

we had a litter of 12 puppies together.

I know they still think of me often

My family planted a Ceiba tree on the spot where they buried me.

Awed by the tremendous heights they can reach, Mayans believed that the souls of the dead climb into heaven through the branches of the mythical ceiba tree.

We celebrate Bruno's 8 short but wonderful years of life.

Jayke. A Life Well Lived.

Golden Coral Rambeaux's Jayke
was the pick of a very happy and healthy
litter of golden puppies.

At eight months
Jayke was hit by a truck.
Luckily the contact was with his shoulder
and not his ribs but the impact crushed a major nerve and he lost most of the ability to control his leg movement.

Jayke enjoyed being around people
and was lucky enough to go to work every day.

He looked after shipping and receiving.

Other favorite activities included
camping...

and riding
in his "Jaykemobiles".

We celebrate Jayke's 15 wonderful years of life.

Jayke and his humans continue to be an inspiration,
and a testament to those
contemplating adopting dogs with disabilities.

Remembering The Gates

we
recently watched

the new documentary
and
wanted to take a moment
to remember how we enjoyed
the 16 days of The Gates...

If you can have nostalgia for something that only happened three years ago, then the screening of “The Gates,” an HBO documentary about the 2005 Central Park art installation by Christo and Jeanne-Claude, inspired waves of it (and a lot of orange) at Gracie Mansion on Tuesday night.

* 1979 beginning
* The project was approved in 2003
* Installation of the bases started in January 2005 and was completed on February 6th.
* Installation of the poles started on February 7th.
* The Gates were unfurled on the morning of February 12th 2005
* The removal of the gates began on 28 February 2005
* There were no opening ceremonies or events planned by the artists
* There were 7,500 gates

the winds

A great wind is blowing, and that gives you either imagination or a headache.
