Don't leave your dog ...

with a Dura-Flame Log

We had another interesting adventure

on beautiful Martha's Vineyard last week.

the weather is iffy this time of year

but we always enjoy the beach no matter what.

Just to add to the excitement, Sasha decided to sample the new
"Green Formula" log from Dura-flame.

She seems to be ok now but she was awfully sick and we were pretty worried

about her.

Dog!

- is there no end to the "living and learning" ??

It seems the new Dura-Flames contain an oil compound in them which smells like Food to dogs.

The ASPCA 911 Emergency Poison Control line in Urbana, Illinois is getting many phone calls about dogs eating the "Green" Formula" logs.
Costco Warehouse stores are embarking on a conversation
with Dura-Flame as we speak.
The ASPCA is also in conversation with Dura-Flame.

Obama dog?

This isn't "Bo", but this is great.

WaterdogGate

The identity of the first puppy,
a 6-month-old Portuguese water dog,

"Bo"

leaked Saturday
despite White House efforts
to delay the news

until the big debut planned for Tuesday

We like that Malia and Sasha chose the name for their
"Porgy"
after the nickname of first lady Michelle Obama’s father

"Diddley"

Senator
Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts
offered the 6-month-old canine to the Obama girls
after its previous family could not take care of it

"As for the rescue pledge, the Obamas came up with a solution intended to lend a serious symbolic note: They're going to make a donation to the D.C. Humane Society."

Seder for dogs?

WHEN Robert Uri Heller, a psychologist and professor at the Adler School of Professional Psychology, leads a Passover Seder in Chicago on Saturday, some of the rituals symbolizing Jews’ exodus from Egypt may be lost on the yarmulke-wearing guests.

Those guests will, after all, be dogs.

The maker of natural pet food hosts the event as a way of promoting its line of kosher pet food. The evening revolves around a seder service, featuring a communal meal with complimentary kosher snacks for dogs.

In addition, there will be prizes for dogs who find the “Afikoman,” or hidden matzoh, and the singing of special holiday songs. Evanger’s makes a variety of pet food that’s endorsed by the Chicago Rabbinical Council, which helps Jewish pet owners keep a grain-free home during Passover.

April fools!

BURLINGTON, VT

Ben & Jerry's is just kidding

about Cyclone Dairy

- but we're serious about the need for a system to track cloned animals," said Walt Freese, Chief Euphoria Officer for Ben & Jerry's.

Today, Ben & Jerry's lifted the lid on an April Fool's Day event aimed at raising consumer awareness of the government's recent approval of cloned milk and meat within the human food supply chain.

In late-March Ben & Jerry's went undercover through the launch of Cyclone Dairy, a fictitious dairy company marketing milk made from 100% cloned cows, to gauge consumer reaction surrounding this issue. The make-believe company was launched via the Web site CycloneDairy.com and street sampling initiatives in Manhattan, with support from the Center for Food Safety, a nonprofit public interest organization based in Washington, D.C.
