July

July is a ruff month.

Not only

are there lots of

frightening thunderstorms,

but people in these parts

tend to be rather enthusiastic about their fireworks too.

It's a good time to

hunker down with good friends

and just wait for the dust to settle.

some of my friends get pretty creative

looking for places to hide...

and some are lucky enough
to quickly gather a few vital necessities,

get in the car

and head for the nearest hills.

I'm always glad when this month is over!

Another bad hair day for OldDog's mom.

Dear Stella,

You might be amused
to know that two weeks ago
my hair-cutter was so immersed
in our conv

ersation about your vocal performance on my CD
that not only did she well up
and shed a few tears,
she also cut off a lot more of my hair
than ever before.

She attempted to cover by saying
this was a "summer" cut
but I ain't buying any of it.

After 2 weeks of growth
I'm still not a happy camper.

This "do" most closely resembles that
of John Ritter's character in "Sling Blade"
(remember it??) - NOT meant to flatter.
I don't have much hope that it will improve
any time soon.

So...guess I'll be wearing a hat and exploring other options!
